APLUS Effectively Trains Young Athletes
We use the best training methods for working with youths ages 3 to TEEN. The training program and exercises consider critical factors in a child’s developmental stage, motor functioning, and gender-specific considerations to ensure that the workouts do not hinder development and growth. Regardless of the sport, you will have ready-to-use programs for both short-term and long-term maturation. Stages include:
- Athletic development
- Monitoring training
- Flexibility training
- Speed training
- Agility and quickness
- Strength and power training
- Endurance training
- Program assessment and prescriptions
ATHLETES three to six years old love physical activity and anything involving play. They have a rich imagination and a strong desire to be less dependent on their usual caregivers. Many children at this age have a hard time with structure in a group environment, like what is commonly found in most martial arts schools. It targets their stage of development and adapts to their social and intellectual curiosity. At the same time, fine and gross motor skills, focus, attention, and perseverance are further developed.
DEVELOPMENTAL BENEFITS
Physical Development
Activities focusing on gross motor skills and fine motor skills are the core of the program for Pre-K knights 3-6. Most of the exercises include activities that help develop balance and coordination.
Social Development
Martial Arts training, in general, helps participants develop social skills by working together, this helps athletes respect each other as well as their instructors. A large part of the training focuses on shared control.
Cognitive Development
- Attention, focus, and decision-making are essential skills. Every training session includes activities that allow participants to work on problem-solving, hand-eye coordination and visual and auditory processing skills
Athletes seven - ten years old are the most enthusiastic students. They love creativity and problem-solving, which makes them ideal students in Martial Arts. They are so progressive in following tasks, and some teachers tend to treat them like their older peers. However, they do not have the basic skills necessary to keep up with children ages eleven and up. We targets this stage of development by providing them with a program that adapts to their social and intellectual curiosity. At the same time, they are building skills that set them up for success.

Athletes eleven- teen are what most people consider “the golden age.” They are proficient in their vocabulary and problem-solving skills, yet they are not at the age where they want complete independence from adults. This makes the teacher-student relationship more vital than ever. They still develop core skills, and although they are knowledgeable, they struggle to keep up with students ages 13 and up.
